For Tapas of mind, cultivate a regular meditation practice. The discipline required to maintain a habit is an excellent way to connect to the energy of this sutra! Observe, over time, how this habit transforms you.
To practice Tapas of speech, choose a mantra that resonates with you. For example, you could use Om Agnaye Namaha, to invoke the transformative fire of Tapas. As you chant this mantra, draw to mind something that you wish to transform through the power of Tapas!
Tapas of body: develop a balanced physical practice! Too often we swing between extreme effort and ease, and never find moderation. Hone your discipline by committing yourself not only to your practice, but also to periods of rest and self care!
