Muscular Manipulation massage

Eric Cherry has been a massage therapist for over 8 years and has evolved his treatment from full body massage to targeted muscular therapy. He is well versed in the anatomical structure of the body and knows how to release trigger points with targeted, deep tissue techniques. We call him “the Fixer” and the muscle whisperer. As his fingers “play the piano” on the areas of chronic pain, you feel the release, the healing and the pain dissipate. You feel the therapy. You can count on Eric to let you know how many treatment sessions are right for you to help you manage your pain. You may need to have these treatments on an ongoing basis in order for them to be most effective.

“Muscular Manipulation is an intense style of massage therapy used to manage or relieve your pain. It relies on a thorough understanding of anatomy and physics, plus the ability to feel where your body's issues are. If there is a muscular cause to your pain, I'll home in on it and do my level best to resolve it.”

-Eric Cherry

Eric Cherry is available for appointments every other week Friday - Monday.

If you are pregnant, please notify the studio here prior to your massage. If you do not notify the studio prior to your massage and book a service other than a prenatal massage, we retain the right to deny services and/or withhold refunds.

Thai yoga bodywork

Thai Stretching or “Lazy Man’s Yoga” differs from other techniques as it is done with the recipient being fully clothed and on the floor on a large, thick mat. An important component of Thai Medicine, Thai Bodywork is considered a form of energy work that greatly benefits the physical and mental aspects of the body.

Focusing on releasing the energy of the sen lines (which are energetic channels throughout the body), the Thai Yoga practitioner applies pressure to the lines using hands, elbows, and knees. In addition to working on the sen lines, the receiver of the massage is also placed in various yoga positions to increase flexibility and circulation. You are touched head to toe in this 2 hour session. (Lesser amounts of time are optional.) First and foremost, you should wear loose, comfortable clothes that doesn’t restrict any movements. If you have them, flexible garments, like stretchy yoga attire, works really well.

Benefits of receiving a session includes looser muscles, increased flexibility, and reduced stress. What people are less likely to expect that you actually experience an increase in energy. Thai massage draws from Ayurvedic medical practices, and while the kneading and stretching of muscles relaxes them, the actual goal is to open up the flow of energy throughout your body. By unblocking your channels and stimulating uninhibited movement through your circulatory, lymphatic, and nervous systems, a Thai massage promote better overall health, and a refreshed, ready to go feeling.

Typically from river beds, basalt stones are used for massage as they have a rich iron content that retains heat.

A hot stone massage can help relieve muscle tension and pain, reduce stress and anxiety, promote sleep, and help boost immunity, The black lava smooth stones will be heated to 130*F. Feel the heat resinate through out your body as these stones caress your cares and stressors away.

Ayurvedic Herbal Massage

Udvartana is an invigorating traditional Indian treatment that helps strengthen the immune system, reduce systemic inflammation, stimulate blood and lymph circulation, and detoxify your body. The MYBO Ayurveda Massage stays true to the ancestral method of this lineage, passed from an elder/guru in India and taught to our therapists. This therapy involves body scrubbing using a mixture of different natural herbs (Ashwagandha) in a powder form to exfoliate the outer skin while helping to reduce excess cellulite and fat accumulated under the skin. This massage brings nourishment to the tissues, cells and energy channels; brings deep relaxation to the muscles, improves sexual vitality, reduces stress, and brings calmness to one's mind and nervous system. This also helps regulate sleep patterns and circadian rhythm.

Pair this with our champi scalp massage for the ultimate healing duo. After the session, most clients feel very relaxed and blissful so we request you to take at least 60 minutes to relax (enjoy our infrared sauna with the powders and oils on your skin). We do not recommend doing anything after this massage (like driving in traffic, going to Target, having an intense meeting, etc).

Champi (Scalp & Upper Body) Massage

Champi is an Ayurvedic head massage that uses warm natural oil to focus on the chakras located in the head, face, neck, and shoulders. The massage therapist uses their hands, forearms, and fingers to apply slow strokes while incorporating rubbing, plucking, and tapping. It relieves tension in these energy points which provides the opportunity for your mind and body to rejuvenate. Aromatherapy and warm towels may also be incorporated in the session.

This massage helps prevent hair loss by improving hair quality and stimulating hair growth, eliminating dandruff and improving scalp health to greater health benefits overall, such as reducing headaches, lowering blood pressure, and easing anxiety, depression, and anger. It also energizes your whole body by strengthening memory, increasing mental clarity, peace, and alertness. This massage pairs well with any of our other massages or energy healing experiences!

Fascia Blasting

Fascia Blasting, made popular by guru Ashley Black, can “lessen the look of cellulite, break down fat cells, reduce pain, improve muscle performance, and accelerate muscle recovery.” Fascia, the head-to-toe, fingertip-to-fingertip connective tissue that stretches throughout our entire body, helps us look, feel and function better when it is loose and healthy.

In this session, you work with the practitioner to your level of comfort, goals, and needs. Infrared sauna must be used prior to the session to warm the fascia and cupping will also be used to enhance the effects. You will have bruising and may feel tender. You’ll love how open and free your body feels after the session.

Every muscle and structure is surrounded and penetrated by an interconnected tissue network. The tissue is called fascia. Fascia helps contribute to the structure and functioning of the entire body. Over time the fascia tissue can become unhealthy due to lifestyle choices, previous injury and much more. Massaging the fascia, with the FasciaBlaster tools, can temporarily provide a number of benefits similar to a skilled massage. During a 90-day study that tested the effects of the Tools, ultrasound imaging showed the fascia tissue smoothing out and restoring from the skin layer down to the femur bone. Even an untrained eye can see how the “white tissue” was entangled and distorted in the “before” picture, then "smoothed out" after only 90 days. Since the fascial system houses and encases the blood vessels, you can imagine the impact healthy fascia can temporarily have on blood flow.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many reasons, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.

Cupping has a detoxifying effect on the skin and circulatory systems and is also significant with a visible improvement in skin color after three to five treatments. Cupping removes toxins and improves blood flow through the veins and arteries. Especially useful for yogis and athletes as well as office workers. Cupping also affects the digestive system. A few benefits include an improved metabolism, relief from constipation, a healthy appetite, and stronger digestion.
Mind Your Body Oasis offer flame free cupping services. Cupping could leave red, circular marks on the treated area – which may take around 10 days to fade, and could stick around for up to a month.

Paired with 30 minute Infrared Sauna Session.
